Ahhhh, Rihanna is so clever!  We all know Rihanna for her outstanding music and unique looks, but this is something new! She came out with a cosmetic line. I personally did not think she would ever think of making one, but she did. Now we all know that makeup is makeup but… something makes her's special. She has a large variety of shades for many skin tones, 40 to be exact! If you use makeup, then you know that a large variety of shades is not that common for most make up line.  Also, another one of her most popular things are her highlighters. Cosmetic highlighters are for when you want an extra pop or glow on some parts of your  face. Her most popular highlighter is called “Trophy wife". People really seem to enjoy the pop and glow it gives you. Also another highlighter she has is “Girl next door“. This highlighter has a rose gold effect so it would look kinda rosy and pink on your face.  “Trophy wife“ has a gold effect so it gives you like a sun kissed look! The Fenty line also has eyeshadow palette. One of the eyeshadow palettes is the holiday collection called “Galaxy“, and it will be coming out in Sephora stores on October 13th 2017 .

I personally haven't gotten to try the Fenty products, but I had the chance to interview a beauty blogger, Rinata Jackson, about her thoughts on Fenty beauty products. I also spoke to her about tips on other cosmetic beauty products that are great for middle schoolers and WOC. Here is my interview with her.

Q:  Were you excited when you first heard about Fenty Beauty?
A: I was so excited. I don't think I've ever been that excited about a makeup launch. I knew I had to purchase some the day it came out, and I did!

Q:   What shade foundation did you use? How would you describe the product?
A: I have shade 400. It is one of the best foundations I've ever used. It is full coverage. It dries quickly so you have to blend it out quickly. I suggest applying it in sections, not your whole face at once. If you have oily skin, it will be perfect for you because it is quite matte & dry. I do not have oily skin but I still love it because it gives me an extremely flawless finish, so it works for normal to dry skin also. However, if you have extremely dry skin, you might not like this product.

Q:  Did you try any of the highlighters? Which ones?
A: I have 2 of the highlighters. I have the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo in Girl Next Door/Chic Phreak and the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Trophy Wife. They are both extremely beautiful. Chic Phreak is more of a rose gold/pink type highlighter. Rose Gold goes well with brown skin tones so I highly recommend it for black women. Trophy Wife is my favorite highlighter I've ever tried and I've tried a lot of highlighters! It is perfect for WOC, especially of deeper skin tones. Also, with these highlighters, a little goes a long way, so while they are pricey, it will last you a long time.

Q:  Did you try any of the makeup brushes or sponges?
A: I did not try any of the brushes or sponges. I have heard amazing things about the Fenty Beauty sponge though, so it is on my list to try next. I heard it is very squishy like the beauty blender and it is $4 cheaper!

Q: Were the things you bought worth the money you spent on them?
A: I spent quite a bit on Fenty Beauty and it was definitely worth the money in my opinion. I have no regrets about the money I spent. The foundation and the highlighters as I mentioned, are outstanding quality. I know I will get my money's worth out of these products. The highlighters are also very versatile, I've used them both as eyeshadows too and they work amazing. I also purchased one of the contour Match Stix in Espresso and the Fenty Beauty Universal Gloss Balm Lip Luminizer in Fenty Glow and these products are also very good and you get a lot of product in both.

Q: What makeup products would you suggest for middle schoolers on budget?
A: For a middle schooler, I would definitely suggest drugstore products. The drugstore, (Walmart, Target, even Ulta) is starting to have some amazing products that can give you a high end makeup type of look for a fraction of the price. For foundation, definitely check out the Maybelline Fit Me line. It retails for only about $6- $7 and it is a great foundation. They have a wide range of shades, and options for oily or normal to dry skin. The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is also great!

The drugstore also now has sponges that are comparable to the beauty blender that are way cheaper! The L'oreal Infallible Sponge is one of my favorites. Real Techniques also has a beauty sponge sold these affordable stores, which is a good product also. However, the L'oreal sponge is the best, in my opinion!

As far as eyeshadows, NYX has some great eyeshadow palettes and so does Wet N Wild. Wet N Wild eyeshadow palettes retail for about $5 and they are great for beginners. Wet N Wild also has great brushes, lip products, and mascaras that retail for $5 or less!

For middle schoolers of color, you have to check out Black Radiance! It is sold in drugstores and they have great products, such as their True Complexion Contour Palettes and their True Complexion Creme Contour Palette. For a middle schooler who wants to learn how to contour or bronze their face, this is a great option. It retails for about  $7- $8 and it includes a highlighter and two contour shades. In the powder contour palette, you can use those two contour shades as eyeshadows also! I use them all the time in my crease for a natural eyeshadow look.

Q: How long have you been a beauty blogger, and what got you interested?

A: I have been a beauty blogger since September 2015. I posted a little 15 second video on my Instagram of me doing something to my natural hair and it got a lot of great feedback. This in turn got me interested in making YouTube videos. At first I only made natural hair videos. Then I started not only making YouTube videos but watching a lot of YouTube, mainly beauty channels. I've always had a small love for makeup but I never was into completely beating my face. I had a natural knack for doing makeup but I didn't know how to do all the steps, like contouring, eyeshadow, etc. But watching other YouTubers really got me interested in really learning how to beat my face and then I fell in love with makeup. Now I make both hair and makeup tutorials. I have over 8,000 subscribers and over 500,000 views. I am working on growing my channel.

Q:  Do you have advice for a person my age that is interested in makeup or blogging?
A: My advice is to do it! If you're interested in makeup, start at the drugstore like I mentioned, because you are a beginner and it's affordable, get a few products and start practicing. You have to learn because it is definitely a craft. It's an art and to learn how to blend properly on your face and on your eyes takes time. Watch a lot of YouTube! It is free makeup class! I learned so much from watching people on that site.

If you're interested in blogging, you're not too young, get started. YouTube is a great site for that and a lot of people who watch videos are in your age group. Don't worry about if you don't have the fancy equipment. All you need is sunlight and a phone camera, the rest will come in time. If you are more interested in blogging in the written form, check out wordpress.com. I started on there. I still have my blog on there that I update from time to time, but I much prefer video blogging.

I don't know about you, but I got a lot of great advice from that interview! Fenty Beauty. in my opinion, is so amazing, and I cannot wait to try it! I really like the line, because anybody can use it no matter what your skin tone is! I think there should make more products and makeup lines like that! I think Rinata’s opinions and tips were very helpful, especially if you are into makeup and becoming a beauty blogger. I hope you found some great information here.
