Some people think that if you do school sports you will get behind in your schoolwork. This can be true if you don’t stay on top of it. You have to find a way to balance the two. Leaving homework and schoolwork to the last minute can really hurt your grade. Taking that last ten minutes in class to get a head start on homework is the better.
I have heard a recurring statement from many students at AMS, “school is always first, so if you keep that mindset it’s a lot easier to balance school and sports.” This is great to know! If you’re concerned about getting behind in school, don’t be. There is enough time in the day to get your work done and be successful in sports if you stay focused.
From personal experience, if you have a break in your day for some free time, take advantage of that and do your homework then so you don’t have to worry about it later. Doing this will catch you up on your school work so after sports you don’t have to stress about staying up late. Take my advice to balance your school and sports, trust me it will help.
