![]() Ever wonder if a dead person could make some money? Well your question to the universe has been answered… I started to wonder if it was actually possible. I searched it on Google, and it said that some people make money from souvenirs and merchandise etc. even after they are dead. It might come as no surprise that Michael Jackson comes in at the number one spot, but who else is there? If you know the Golf Legend Arnold Palmer, well he claims the Number 2 spot with 40 MILLION dollars for being the #2 of most making money as a dead celeb. After his death nearly more than 400 stores still sell “Palmer brand apparel in Ssia and AriZona Beverages produces 400 million cans of its Arnold Palmer line annually.” says Forbes . Some stores even sell the Arnold Palmer which is a mix of iced tea and lemonade, including Chick-fil-a. According to Forbes, Peanuts creator Charles Schulz ranks third with income of $38 million—MetLife recently retired Snoopy and Charlie Brown from its ad campaigns, but the cartoonist’s contract does not expire until 2019. Elvis Presley finishes fourth with $35 million, up from last year’s $27 million sum thanks to the new $45 million Elvis Presley’s Memphis entertainment complex and recently opened hotel, The Guesthouse, at Graceland. Bob Marley rounds out the top five with $23 million, boosted by sustainability-focused House of Marley audio products and the Marley Beverage Co. “When we decided to start that movement, it was [to] add relevancy to who we are as a family,” says Marley’s son Rohan. “We started that to really home in on our legacy and protect what our father has given us.” The Forbes list measures pretax income from October 15, 2016 through October 15, 2017 before deducting cuts for agents, managers and lawyers. Sources include Nielsen SoundScan, IMDB, Pollstarpro and interviews with celebrity estate experts. So there you go a dead person can make some money! Story by Sydney Edwards ![]() Did you know that Santa has an evil twin? Well, he does, and his name is Krampus. He is part goat, part demon, and part beast. He has a chain and bells that he swings around and a bundle of sticks that he uses to beat the bad out of people. Instead of praising the good, he beats the bad until they learn their lesson. In modern days, on the night of December 6th in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, and Czech Republic, people dress up like Santa’s evil twin. Then, to continue the tradition of whacking bad people, they go around whacking each other with sticks. In fact, you can even buy a Krampus costume here! Krampus is celebrated many different ways in different countries. They have parades in Salzburg, Austria. The parade includes actors dressed up as Krampus. The Krampus costumes are made out of goat fur, so they are very expensive but very realistic. They even made a movie about Krampus last year! Story by Sophie Kafka Gay/LGBTQ+ You are a man and you feel attraction towards men. The term gay is also used sometimes to refer to women who feel attraction to women. ![]() The Hero4 Session is a camera GoPro released in 2015. It incorporated a new cubed design that almost no action camera manufacturers use. I like the camera, some people don't because of the lack of touchscreen and hard to change settings without the app. It takes 8mp photos, and the video settings I will list below: WVGA 120fps 720p 100fps 720S (superview) 60fps 960p 60fps 960S 60fps 1080p 60fps 1440p 30fps All of them have either Medium or wide angle mode. It does not have Active Video Stabilization, unlike the new GoPro fusion, which is almost a year and a half newer. The overall build quality of this camera is average for a GoPro. The only things that I would want is for the SD card cover to be actually waterproof, and for there to be a removable battery like the more expensive (and larger) cameras. The camera is waterproof up to, or down to, 33 feet. When you take it out of the water it has a hollow, or tinny sound to the audio for 3-7 seconds, however, the video quality is very nice. All in all this is a very nice camera, for a astonishing $150 dollars. Story by Nic Scagnoli ![]() There is a German Christmas pickle ornament that has been known since the 1890s. It got started in Germany and now is still a tradition that many people continue. Although there are some different versions of the ¨pickle legend¨, one of them is that you hide a pickle [ornament] deep in the family Christmas tree. The parents hang the pickle after all the other ornaments are already on the tree, and in the morning the child who finds it first gets an extra present from St. Nicholas. The first adult who finds it traditionally gets good luck for the whole year. Children will also make wishes before they go to bed of wishing for the pickle ornament. People who are very familiar with German Christmas traditions sees the flaws. One of them being that St. Nick does not show up on Christmas or Christmas eve; he usually only comes on the 5th or 6th of December. Also, German children do not open presents on Christmas day. Another problem that has come up is that not many people living in Germany have ever heard of it; it seems to be more of a German-American tradition. Whoever came up with it, this tradition adds some fun to Christmas morning!
