Coins for Harvey: Isaac Dickson's Hurricane Relief Fundraiser

10/3/2017

Students at Isaac Dickson donated money to Hurricane Harvey victims. This idea came from two students, Garrison and Camille Hunt. They came up with  this idea one night at dinner, after discussing how they wanted to do something to help people. They called it Coins for Harvey. Garrison wrote a letter asking the school counsellor for help, and it got started from there.

Ms. Sizemoreś and Ms.Dimeglioś classes made posters and collected the money, but anyone could donate. As a school they earned a total of 711 dollars, which they donate to the American Red Cross. ¨It was for the greater good,¨ Garrison said. I think this was a great idea, and I can't wait to see more of this kind of awesome work come from Asheville City Schools. Great job, Isaac Dickson!
