A few weeks ago, I went to a new restaurant in West Asheville called Pizza Mind. The name is kind of self-explanatory (they serve pizza) but their other food was also really good. We ordered the fried green beans as an appetizer and they were delicious, They were deep fried and came with a breading on the outside. They also came with a ranch sauce. According to the Asheville Citizen Times, Pizza Mind is owned and was founded by the same owners of a restaurant just down the street, West Asheville Lounge and Kitchen (WALK), which might explain why their food besides pizza was great.
Their pizza came in a wide variety of sizes, which I like. I built my own: Mushrooms, Pepperoni, Basil and everything was evenly distributed on the pie. Their crust for me was perfect; thin crust but still a little puffy, doughy and a little burnt, and their tomato base was good as well. Our service was amazing, everyone was really nice and our food came very quickly despite the huge crowd there! They also had a good number of staff for the size of the restaurant.
Overall, my favorite part of the whole experience was the atmosphere of the actual building. It felt very modern and simple, and it felt homey, like a family friendly place. My only complaint about Pizza Mind is that it didn’t open sooner. If you are in the mood for Pizza, try this great new restaurant!
